Rough Start

For some reason when we came home the night before we thought it would be a good idea to give the wake-up call system another try. The phone rang and 7:30, Jared answered it and we both rolled over and went back to bed. We dozed until 10:00, maybe it was jet leg finally setting in, but most likely it was the cocktails from the night before. We showered up got a light bite to eat at our hotel and were off again to do the Red Route, the last of the three routes that are a part of our tour.

Our first stop of the day was at Creu Coberta, which is a small market area of Barcelona. It was obvious that it was more of a mix of locals and tourist. The market was filled with butchers, fish booths, fruit and vegetable stands and bakeries. We both noticed that mainly women were running the booths; it was funny to see them butchering large pieces of meet. The streets outside were lined with carts filled with various material goods and storefronts mainly of shoes and clothing. One of the carts right outside the Market is where Tina made her first purchase of the trip. See photo for a snap shot of the pants, they are very popular; many of the ladies wear them around town. We hopped back on the bus, Jared was empty handed because he “just wasn’t in a buying mood” and headed to Montujic.
