After the church we stopped at another one of Gaudi’s masterpieces called Parc Guell. This park overlooks Barcelona and provides numerous breathtaking views in every direction you look. This place also happens to be where Gaudi built his home. If your going to design all of Barcelona then why not built your home in the most beautiful place of all. It turns out that Gaudi probably should have spent a little more time designing where to place street signs and street signals than designing all of Barcelona’s architecture, that is because he was hit by a bus and killed.
This park included numerous terraced levels and walkways. Each having it’s own unique touch and various musicians. The trencadis or mosaic is amazing not just in the center court outlined with mosaic benches, but throughout the park. The pictures attempt to but do not capture the true beauty of this place.
On our way back to the hotel we decided to grab a bit to eat and bring it back to eat on our terrace. We stopped at a little bakery called Mistral where we enjoyed a delicious flatbread topped with sweet onions and also a prosciutto baget. We knew that this place would be authentic/good because no one spoke a lick of English, then again no really speaks any English, at least not when your looking for street signs. This little lunch was all we hoped it to be, absolutely delicious, especially when we washed it down with a couple more San Migue and a diet coke (not an easy thing to find in a plastic re-closable bottle).
