Even with the plane leaving late we arrived in Nice, right on schedule. We took a cab to our hotel and dropped off the bags. We were feeling a little burnt out after the mornings festivities and after the fiasco last night so we decided to walk straight roads and find somewhere to eat. We learned a couple more valuable lessons on this trek as well.
Lesson Number One – We learned to not stop at the first place you see. That was obviously Jared’s idea, since Tina likes to look at and sit down in at least 3 restaurants before deciding. We shared a pizza that was less than mediocre, unless you ask Jared. He thought it was OK, probably because he was trying to convince Tina and himself that it wasn’t a mistake to go there. He still claims it wasn’t a mistake.
Lesson Number Two – It is a great idea to scope out people’s plates as you walk by them, but be sure you then sit at the right restaurant. You see, Jared saw someone else eating pizza and it looked great. Even though their table was right by ours, it was another restaurant.
We still had time till check in so we decided to venture around and get our bearings. Jared stopped and got some more Gelato, this time a bit more of an American flavor, Snickers. We found a square with a fountain, Tina took this time to get her bearings with the maps that the hotel provided us. Once we (well, Tina) figured out the layout of Nice we headed back to the hotel. We were both in need of some cooler clothes and a quick shower.
