Fall Fun

As any new parents would be we were really excited for the fall season and many first with Jackson! First pumpkin (we let our neighbors know I was expecting with our two big pumpkins and a little one for the baby), first halloween and Zoo Boo, and first time playing in leaves!

Leaves

I was already to win back my mother of the year award with a great Halloween costume, but when I realized we wouldn’t even be together on Halloween, I gave up that dream. Kid to Kid was the perfect place to find his costume, that had a cute Tiger costume that would be perfect for Zoo Boo!! I was so excited for Zoo Boo, mainly because I love Zoo’s and now I finally had a little one to bring! I screamed first time mommy as I took way to many pictures. It didn’t take long to realize that Jackson could careless that we were at the zoo, he fell asleep and left us adults to enjoy the animals.

We picked out Jackson’s first pumpkin. After realizing that many of these first are for us parents, we decided to keep it simple and just go to Green Acres one day after work. Jackson feel asleep on the way there and was not happy when we woke him up for this fun outing. It didn’t take him long to wake up and warm up to picking his pumpkin and crawling through the straw crawl.

We carved pumpkins (don’t tell him it was the weekend after halloween) and he enjoyed playing in the gook of the pumpkin pulp and seeds. He enjoyed playing in the leaves and I desperately tried to recreate a “photo shoot” that I saw on Pinterest. Let’s just say it looked a whole lot easier on Pinterest and the whole painting his bottom orange was difficult for several reasons. One, it was hard to find orange face paint that actually showed up. Two, he was moving and shaking by this point and really wouldn’t sit still.

My First Pumpkin!

Jackson’s first Thanksgiving was great! He loved the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, let’s be honest, he loved all of the desserts. He had fun at Nana and Papa’s on Thanksgiving day and enjoyed running around the cabin in his walker the day after Thanksgiving . It was mild enough out that we could put him in the backpack carrier and take a nice walk, don’t worry Jer did the heavy carrying, and I did the heavy drinking :O)

Jackson also started to giggle out loud on a regular basis. He learned how much fun it can be to be tickled.
