Nice to Naples

To avoid panic attacks and anxiety, we decided that arriving at the airport 2 hours early would give us plenty of time. It turned out that yes 2 hours in the Nice airport was about 1 hour to soon. At least Tina wasn’t going to pass out this time with a fear of missing our plane. To good news was that the airport actually had descent WiFi so we could upload some of our post.

The flight ran smooth and was right on time. After grabbing our luggage we walked through the doors to see “The Transporter” (seriously this guy could have been the main character in the movie) holding a sign reading “Mr. & Mrs. Twamley.” By the time we rounded the corner to take a picture with Gaitano, our driver, the paper was away and he was on the move.  Gaitano was decked out to the nines, he was in a suit and tie and of course, he took Tina’s luggage and led us to a black Mercedes Benz in mint condition.

The ride was very smooth even though Gaitano was weaving in and out of traffic right around 100mph. The ride got a bit more aggressive as we got closer to Sorrento, here streets became narrower and narrower, and what once seemed to be a mild mannered man quickly turned into a red head, freckled Italian laying on the horn. It turns out that this is what drivers do in Sorrento, even if they are just saying “hi” to one other.
