The ride down was just as crazy and hair raising as the way up. Jared has a habit of falling asleep in cars, buses, boats, etc. really anything that is moving, and he couldn’t even fall asleep on this ride. Now Pepe warned us that Capri Town was “different” from Anacapri. He described the shops in Anacapri as “normal”, and the ones in Capri Town as “not normal.” What he meant by that was in Anacapri you buy jewelry made of coral and shell and in Capri Town the jewelry was made of diamonds. Pepe took us on a little walk through Capri Town, showed us the most popular hotel of the island, but not the most expansive. At this hotel you could get a room for only 1,000 Euros a night, Sam was that one not in our budget? He then told us we had two options, we could walk around and shop or we could follow him to a beautiful garden. Jared wanted to go to the garden, mainly because he didn’t want Tina to shop in this part of Capri, we all know how much she loves jewelry. The garden did not have any diamonds but it was really beautiful and had even more spectacular views.
One of the great things about Pepe and his tour was that he did a great job of giving information throughout the tour, asking if he was clear about the information given, and giving options. You never felt like you were part of a tour group because you always had your own time to do things. Capri would be a very hard island to explore on your own. Even after visiting the garden we had time to explore Capri town before meeting up with Pepe to go to our final destination Marina Grande. Thankfully we only bought two thing in Capri Town. The first being lemon slushies. As you can see from our pictures there are citrus gardens everywhere and it was HOT so we thought it would be a refreshing treat. Holy Sugar, they were super sweet and super lemony, we bought a huge water and just kept diluting them down, in the end we were very hydrated and got to experience the fresh squeezed lemon juice.
We also got Jared a hat, because for the last part of our tour we were taking a boat tour around Capri and Tina just really wanted to get him a hat like that. It was a steal for only 8 Euros and it makes him look like a real local.
